Notes

Notes should not contain everything the teacher has on the slides. It is common practice to leave some blanks so that students will pay attention and take down notes.

Clarity of notes is important, and so care should be given to ensure that the notes printed are clear. These include diagrams, statistics and words. In our bid to "save the environment" sometimes, we cramp as much info as possible into as few pieces of paper as possible. But then the comprehension of the students is compromised. Firstly, when too much info is cramped onto one page, the student gets put off and would end up not looking at the notes. Secondly, when diagrams and words are not printed clearly, wrong information can be learnt... this is especially so numbers. Example, it could be 3000 new houses are built, but because of poor printing, it might appear as 8000. Hence, size, clarity of orthography and pictures, clarity of language, and layout of notes should be taken into account seriously.
